Close to the ocean and Porto’s largest urban park, this building was conceived as an extension of its surroundings. Its form dissolves into the landscape, opening toward the sea, the treetops, and the warm light of the setting sun. Each home has its own entrance and unfolds across two layers , a social floor that embraces daily life, and a quieter, more intimate level where rest and privacy take place. It is a way of living that mirrors nature’s rhythm: open when needed, sheltered when desired.
The materiality reinforces this bond between inhabitant and place. Wooden shutters, planted balconies, and durable, sustainable solutions create a dialogue between architecture, time, and the natural world. More than a building, it becomes a gentle mediator, offering comfort, grounding, and a sense of belonging.
For A43, this is the essence of architecture: creating homes that respect the landscape, elevate everyday life, and allow people to feel deeply connected to where they live.
